ISSUES AT HAND EMERGENCY SERVICES
The Union Township Board of Trustees have been meeting with Urbana City Officials, Mechanicsburg City Officials, and Urbana Township Trustees to discuss the great financial need of all area Emergency Medical Services. Currently Union Township has fire assistance contracts with Urbana City, Mechanicsburg Village, and Pleasant Township in Clark County. Due to the wides spread distance of our beautiful township, total coverage comes from many directions. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has not been a financial burden for our tonwnship. Presently the City of Urbana and Mechanicsburg Village, have great financial need for support from those areas utilizing their services. The Union Township Trustees are faced with limited dollars to spread over many township needs. The need is also great to provide our residents with emergency services. Further discussion will go on over the next few months. While the desire of the Trustees is not to place a levy on the ballot, the need in the economy to support local Emergency Medical Assistance Services has increased.
